Levy Lab members Chris Piatnichouk ’26 and Juancho Pérez Góngora ’25 were honored for their accomplishments both in the department and beyond at today’s Honors Convocation.

Chris was named a 2025 Goldwater Scholar, highlighting his outstanding potential as a leader in fighting drug-resistant disease. Read more about his award here:

Meanwhile, Juancho received the 2025 Davidson Physics Department Award. The (tennis-themed) citation read:

This year’s recipient aced his classes while consistently serving up impressive results in medical and nuclear physics research. In the classroom, his dedication to sharing his love of learning with everyone he tutored was hard to match. For outstanding contributions to our department, the 2025 Physics Award is presented to the smashing Juan Camilo Pérez Góngora.
